After graduating from Missouri Western State University in 1994, I accepted my first job with the Plano Independent School District as a first grade teacher.  My 2nd year of teaching, I began working towards my Master's Degree in Education and graduated from The University of North Texas with my Master's in Education in 1998.  I taught first grade for 9 years in Plano before deciding to stay at home for a few years with my children.  In the summer of 2005, I moved with my family to the Alvord area.  My first year in Alvord, I taught third grade.  I enjoyed the independence of third graders, but really missed teaching first grade.  The next year, a first grade position opened and I was given the opportunity to take it...which I did!  I taught first grade for 10 years and then moved to 2nd grade, where I am currently in my 3rd year of teaching.  This is my 14th year in Alvord and my 23rd year of teaching.
